How clean meat will change the food industry - Docu
How will clean meat change our food industry? Is clean meat the future and if so, how will clean meat change our way of living or are we ignoring it to satisfy our hunger for meat? A documentary about clean meat, it´s production and the question, if we really want to change our lifestyle into a sustainable one. In the Netherlands cultured meat is a public interest, but it seems still very complicated to bring it to market. Are we missing the train? At least 50 billion animals are slaughtered every year to satisfy our desire for meat. Almost a fifth of the CO2 emissions on earth come from livestock. It turns out to be extremely difficult to eat less meat: many people just like meat and the global demand for it is still increasing. That was the reason for entrepreneur and cultivated meat pioneer Willem van Eelen to come up with ‘in vitro meat’. After his death, daughter Ira received a phone call from Silicon Valley last year. Josh Tetrick, CEO of the young company Just invited her to come and eat cultured meat in the kitchen of their laboratory in San Francisco. The company bought her father's patents and is now starting to actually produce and sell cultured meat. But the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport regards cultured meat as a so-called "novel food" and thus delays the introduction of cultured meat. With this resistance, changing our global meat production and consumption becomes a race against the climate clock. On the other hand, meat from cultivated stem cells is ultimately sustainable, as less land, water and energy are required for production. According to the makers, it is also completely food safe and no animals need to be slaughtered for it. In short: cultured meat is a reality. It is there and we can make it. The question is: do we really want it? We know the anacondas, boas, pythons, but have you heard about the Titanoboa? It is the queen of snakes and is also the largest ever known. Correction: The titanoboa weighed 1.13 tons. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION: Its scientific name is Titanoboa Cerrejonensis, because it was discovered in the Cerrejón coal mines, located in the State of La Guajira, in Colombia. In this place, the geologist Henry Garcia found a strange fossil in 1994. He labeled it a "petrified branch" and stored it in a counter in the mine's facilities. The discovery was not free of challenges. To know what the titanoboa was feeding on and what its true size was, the head was needed. Until then, mining activity had helped the discovery of new species. While more layers of land miners extracted, more species were found and they seemed to be increasingly older. The problem was that this time the miners had announced that they were going to start digging in lower strata and that all the land from the time of the titanoboa would be removed, losing any trace of it. The paleontologists had to hurry. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Us: Trend Max is an education and entertainment channel dedicated to creating interesting Tops and Lists. Irish family's move to New Zealand shattered over Down's Syndrome
Irish family's move to New Zealand shattered over Down's Syndrome: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6851105/Irish-familys-dream-New-Zealand-shattered-Downs-Syndrome.html. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqi7z1Xa_8CBhQStlApH8ww?sub_confirmation=1 A family from Ireland were forced to abandon their dream move to New Zealand when their youngest daughter was denied a visa because she had Down's Syndrome. Bumikka Suhinthan, 15, was told she couldn't enter the country because her 'health was not of an acceptable standard' and would impose excessive costs. Mother Nilani Suhinthan, 52, had planned to start a new life in Auckland, New Zealand, after she was headhunted for a £74,000-a-year IT consultant job. She, her husband Nagarajah, 54, and other daughters Tanya, 19, and Saumia, 14, all received visas but Bumikka's rejection has shattered their dream. The family, who now live in Dublin, previously lived in Buckinghamshire for 25 years until 2015.   Despite the family offering to pay for the extra support their daughter would need in school, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) ruled Bumikka would be too great a burden. Mrs Suhinthan, who had already moved to New Zealand to prepare for the family's emigration, said she was told Bumikka would be eligible for a temporary visitor visa, so the family could spend Christmas Day in New Zealand. But despite booking flights, they were stopped from boarding their connecting flight in Malaysia, because Bumikka wasn't considered a genuine visitor. RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next Police officer who was sacked for racist drunken rant in... Mother-of-one, 22, with no health problems dies suddenly... Share this article Share The mother and her husband Nagarajah, an engineer, have spent three months appealing the rejection, but a final hearing last week ruled the decision was final. Nilani, who lives in Dublin, said: 'It's complete discrimination. I've always told her she isn't any different but this tears it up. 'She doesn't completely understand why we're not going to New Zealand. 'They kept telling me she would cost them money to send her to a special school. My tax bill in one month would cover the school fees for the entire year.'It just doesn't make any sense other than it being discriminatory. Bumikka has a moderate disability, but she can talk, walk and dress herself. She only needs supervision and extra help in the classroom.'So I don't understand why they would reject her temporary visa other than being discriminatory.'We were planning a new life over there. Instead we were just thrown in limbo.'We had to spend Christmas Day in an apartment and had to have terrible Malaysian food instead of a Christmas dinner.'The car I bought over there is just sitting in my sister's driveway. I couldn't just leave her in Ireland and move my other children to the other side of the world. 'I love my daughter too much to move the other side of the world but we were all looking forward to our new life.'She and her husband had emigrated from Sri Lanka in 1990, initially living in Buckinghamshire and then moving to Dublin in 2015. Mrs Suhinthan was scouted for a job as a data mining specialist for a large US tech company in June last year, and moved over to get set #Irish, #family, #move, #NewZealand, #shattered, #overDown, #Syndrome #Irish, #familys, #dream, #New, #Zealand, #shattered, #Downs, #Syndrome

Product Popcorn Podcast Ep.14: Mining Customer Insights & Big Data Backlash
This week on the podcast we explore the product marketing and business intelligence side of product management. Our guest today is Sara Smith, Social Strategy Director. Riding the bridge between quant and qual, Sara uses Big Data to mine customer insights and build marketing strategies for “food fashion & fun” brands like Qdoba, Forever 21, and Hello Kitty. In addition to talking about mining customer insights with big data, we discuss what Sara calls a “big data backlash.” How do we quantify ‘qualitative’ elements of the marketing strategy like cultural relevance? *Also in this episode:* - social listening and how this should be incorporated into your product marketing strategy - Using the right language to build queries that will give you the right customer insights. - In a Big Data world, how do you determine which data is important to mine insights for your product? - The importance of being culturally relevant. - How do you determine which metrics are important? Kinetica: Naturalistic Multi-touch Data Visualization
Full Title: Kinetica: Naturalistic Multi-touch Data Visualization Authors: Jeffrey M Rzeszotarski, Aniket Kittur Abstract: Over the last several years there has been an explosion of powerful, affordable, multi-touch devices. This provides an outstanding opportunity for novel data visualization techniques that leverage new interaction methods and minimize their barriers to entry. In this paper we describe an approach for multivariate data visualization that uses physics-based affordances that are easy to intuit, constraints that are easy to apply and visualize, and a consistent view as data is manipulated in order to promote data exploration and interrogation. We provide a framework for exploring this problem space, and an example proof of concept system called Kinetica. We describe the results of a user study that suggest users of Kinetica were able to explore multiple dimensions of data at once, identify outliers, and discover trends with minimal training. Proving Reserves
http://GoldspringInfo.blogspot.com The beginning of a study about Goldspring Inc. Audio Interviews with Goldspring Inc CEO Faber & COO Golden. http://www.mymusicstream.com/artist/1947/index.php SEC Filings, Press Releases, Investor Brochures http://GoldspringFacts.blogspot.com Q1: Have you ever worked in a consulting position with a management team that went to this extent to determine a mining plan and to set it up to really know the parameters before they went in, to this extent, before mining? Mike Norrad, President, Founder Techbase 3-D Scientific Visualization and software prediction tool of Geological Mining Reserves A1: (In a calm, cool, senior voice) It is rare, because there is often a hurry, a rush to start moving dirt. Interjection mimicking financial pressue, "I want my money back!" A1: I can understand that on one hand, but I like thee...I basically have been told to get the right answer. To me that's very refreshing that Goldspring will give me the data I need. They will give me the time I need to get it right. I feel like here I am part of the team. If I see that we are not collecting the right information or if I see a place where we need more, I can say "Guys, we need a hole here," and a hole will appear there. We will add it to the list. To often (in other exploration efforts by other companies on other properties) I get called in after the fact, "The drill program is done. Okay, give us an answer." Truthfully, regretfully, respectfully, "It's too late to say, "You guys gave me the wrong stuff or you need to drill another hundred feet that way."" Q2: A comparative analysis between Goldspring and a mine up in Canada that just sold. What you (the Goldspring team) are doing here is real roadmap in comparision to what they did over there at "Talks on bucks for", almost a by-guess and by-golly. A2: There some very shakey prospects that sell as if they were mines. The business can get a bad name that way. Q3: When you look at the other side of the coin as to what they are getting at. It's not, it's not - proven reserves! They put all these stipulations and they don't have the foggiest in third party verifiable writing as to how they are going to access it and how they are going to retrieve it. They don't know their extradiction cost is. A3: To be continued on next video .... This video clip is in the middle of the second Question and Answer Phase after the BBQ Open House on The Mountain. Subsequent clips will march towards the beginning of the Mike Norrad, TechBase QNA session part 2, post Geology and 3-D Prediction Software Presentation. After the second replay, it helps visualizing your company in the future if listening to the music of guitarist Robin Trower, "Bridge of Sighs", as the low soulful riffs paint large slow winds blowing through the sage and brush fed by gold springs as a deep digging 30 ton bucket scores inches deeper into the ore, lumbers by mighty power up an incline to drag another line into the bed of a T-Rex (Tyranasaurus Rex), King of Trucks. Now that you know Mike Norrad's words, turn off the sound of the video and turn up the sound of the music. Your spirit will sync the two. Your mind will equate the knowledge with the video images adding the accumulated knowledge from your lifetime to imagine the detail close-ups of the mining equipment in operation. Ride back in the king cab of the haul truck. Hydraulic rods lift half the load. The other half is on the back frame via the hinge as it rocks. 70 tons roll huffing out a mushroom of dust from short, but strong, man-made wind. The crusher rumbles on. Gravel churns wet through an agglommerator, walking out with a cement overcoat conveyed to Uriah's Heap. Resting in the desert sun until the speader fans a layer over head, getting darker with each sweep. In several weeks tons are piled high. Cyanide drips into a vat pumping to the rocky field to rain upon the surface. Into the crevasses where only electrons go, the mind scope sees gold particles departing their million year lodging being pulled out by a chemical attraction to cyanide, leaching downward to a pond over heavy mat, pumping up to Merril Lynch's kitchen as Sheryl Crowes, "Everyday is a Winding Road..." Cold winds blow thru God's little Virginia City, down the Comstock, past old Gold Hill, down futher to an American Flat where smaller still are little flecks dancing closer and closer together in a jig. Hands scraping DE off screens laden heavy with Au. A night in the Furnace where flickerings do strange things with dim shadows behind the myriads of tools hanging on the walls. Each replay cuts deeper another layer deeper into your future. http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1120970/000114420408057210/v128715_ex99-1.htm http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1120970/000114420408057210/v128715_ex99-2.htm http://picasaweb.google.com/Scheqky.Goldsprings/GoldspringIncReserveUpdateChartsByTelesco#

From the increasing number of hedge funds in the market to the emergence and regulation of Bitcoin, industry observers, investors, participants and regulators have had their work cut out for them keeping up with the market. Many regulations were implemented in 2013, but will really only start to show their impact in 2014.
