The magnetic field at any given point is specified by both a direction and a magnitude (or strength); as such it is a vector field.[nb 1] The term is used for two distinct but closely related fields denoted by the symbols B and H, where H is measured in units of amperes per meter (symbol: A·m-1 or A/m) in the SI. B is measured in teslas (symbol: T) and newtons per meter per ampere (symbol: N·m-1·A-1 or N/(m·A)) in the SI. B is most commonly defined in terms of the Lorentz force it exerts on moving electric charges. Magnetic fields can be produced by moving electric charges and the intrinsic magnetic moments of elementary particles associated with a fundamental quantum property, their spin.[1][2] In special relativity, electric and magnetic fields are two interrelated aspects of a single object, called the electromagnetic tensor; the split of this tensor into electric and magnetic fields depends on the relative velocity of the observer and charge. In quantum physics, the electromagnetic field is quantized and electromagnetic interactions result from the exchange of photons. tutorials In everyday life, magnetic fields are most often encountered as a force created by permanent magnets, which pull on ferromagnetic materials such as iron, cobalt, or nickel, and attract or repel other magnets. Magnetic fields are widely used throughout modern technology, particularly in electrical engineering and electromechanics. The Earth produces its own magnetic field, which is important in navigation, and it shields the Earth's atmosphere from solar wind. Rotating magnetic fields are used in both electric motors and generators. Magnetic forces give information about the charge carriers in a material through the Hall effect. The interaction of magnetic fields in electric devices such as transformers is studied in the discipline of magnetic circuits Although magnets and magnetism were known much earlier, the study of magnetic fields began in 1269 when French scholar Petrus Peregrinus de Maricourt mapped out the magnetic field on the surface of a spherical magnet using iron needles.[nb 2] Noting that the resulting field lines crossed at two points he named those points 'poles' in analogy to Earth's poles. He also clearly articulated the principle that magnets always have both a north and south pole, no matter how finely one slices them Almost three centuries later, William Gilbert of Colchester replicated Petrus Peregrinus' work and was the first to state explicitly that Earth is a magnet.[3] Published in 1600, Gilbert's work, De Magnete, helped to establish magnetism as a science. In 1750, John Michell stated that magnetic poles attract and repel in accordance with an inverse square law.[4] Charles-Augustin de Coulomb experimentally verified this in 1785 and stated explicitly that the north and south poles cannot be separated.[5] Building on this force between poles, Siméon Denis Poisson (1781–1840) created the first successful model of the magnetic field, which he presented in 1824.[6] In this model, a magnetic H-field is produced by 'magnetic poles' and magnetism is due to small pairs of north/south magnetic poles. (DONT GET SERIOUS YOU STILL READING ALL THAT its just joke FAKE video you ARE ONLINE pranked ALREADY , WORK HARD DONT HOPE FOR FREE ITS ONLY CONCEPT IDEA) Hans Christian Ørsted, Der Geist in der Natur,1854 Three discoveries challenged this foundation of magnetism, though. First, in 1819, Hans Christian Ørsted discovered that an electric current generates a magnetic field encircling it. Then in 1820, André-Marie Ampère showed that parallel wires having currents in the same direction attract one another. Finally, Jean-Baptiste Biot and Félix Savart discovered the Biot–Savart law in 1820, which correctly predicts the magnetic field around any current-carrying wire.transformers is studied in the discipline of magnetic circuits Although magnets and magnetism were known much earlier, the study of magnetic fields began in 1269 when French scholar Petrus Peregrinus de Maricourt mapped out the magnetic field on the surface of a spherical magnet using iron needles.[nb 2] Not transformers is studied in the discipline of magnetic circuits Frenched out the magnetic field on the surface of a spherical magnetism were known much earlier, the ce of a spherical magnet using iron needles. The mechanics of financial markets w/ Peter Zhang of Sang Lucci

01:13:34
Full show notes: http://chatwithtraders.com/ep-009-peter-zhang/ - - Sliding in on episode 009 is a special guest to pullback the curtains, and shine some light on the often dark and mysterious inner workings of our financial markets. Folks, meet Peter Zhang. A Major in Quantitative Finance who was once without a home, dirt poor and had the odds stacked against him. But with a point to prove and the hustlers ambition, he chased down a mentor who would carefully show him the ropes, and gradually transform him into a trader who could make smart decisions, and smart trades. After spending his last dollar on a plane ticket to Las Vegas to attend a trading conference, he got in the ear of Anand ‘Lucci’ Sanghvi (EP 008), and convinced him that starting a hedge fund would be a wise idea. Fast forward a few years, Peter now leads the hedge fund operations at Sang Lucci Capital Partners, including a completely automated high frequency trading fund. And has a mind-blowing understanding of market structure, as you are about to witness.

The Map of Mathematics

11:06
The entire field of mathematics summarised in a single map! This shows how pure mathematics and applied mathematics relate to each other and all of the sub-topics they are made from. If you would like to buy a poster of this map, they are available here: http://www.redbubble.com/people/dominicwalliman/works/25095968-the-map-of-mathematics I have also made a version available for educational use which you can find here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/32264483720/in/dateposted-public/ To err is to human, and I human a lot. I always try my best to be as correct as possible, but unfortunately I make mistakes. This is the errata where I correct my silly mistakes. My goal is to one day do a video with no errors! 1. The number one is not a prime number. The definition of a prime number is a number can be divided evenly only by 1, or itself. And it must be a whole number GREATER than 1. (This last bit is the bit I forgot). 2. In the trigonometry section I drew cos(theta) = opposite / adjacent. This is the kind of thing you learn in high school and guess what. I got it wrong! Dummy. It should be cos(theta) = adjacent / hypotenuse. 3. My drawing of dice is slightly wrong. Most dice have their opposite sides adding up to 7, so when I drew 3 and 4 next to each other that is incorrect. 4. I said that the Gödel Incompleteness Theorems implied that mathematics is made up by humans, but that is wrong, just ignore that statement. I have learned more about it now, here is a good video explaining it: https://youtu.be/O4ndIDcDSGc 5. In the animation about imaginary numbers I drew the real axis as vertical and the imaginary axis as horizontal which is opposite to the conventional way it is done. Thanks so much to my supporters on Patreon. I hope to make money from my videos one day, but I’m not there yet! Vortex Based Mathematics - Marko Rodin

04:35:04
Marko Rodin has discovered the source of the non-decaying spin of the electron. Although scientists know that all electrons in the universe spin, they have never discovered the source of this spin. Rodin has. He has discovered the underpinning geometry of the universe, the fabric of time itself. He has done this by reducing all higher mathematics -- calculus, geometry, scalar math -- to discrete-number mathematics. With the introduction of Vortex-Based Mathematics you will be able to see how energy is expressing itself mathematically. This math has no anomalies and shows the dimensional shape and function of the universe as being a toroid or donut-shaped black hole. This is the template for the universe and it is all within our base ten decimal system! http://markorodin.com/1.5/ Wed, 14 Nov 2001 22:16:11 Subject: The Rodin Coil To Whom It May Concern: Two years ago I met Marko Rodin through a mutual acquaintance. Mr. Rodin shared some of his results with me at that time. It became clear to me that Mr. Rodin's work was a synthesis of numerical patterns which had previously been overlooked by conventional science and mathematics. In hopes of bridging the gap between Mr. Rodin's discoveries and conventional science, I put forth an analytical framework in which mathematical formulae generate the numerical patterns of the Rodin Torus. These formulae suggested that the Rodin Torus lies not just on the surface of the "doughnut" shape, but into the interior as well; in other words, the Rodin Torus is three dimensional. This mathematical formulation is as yet incomplete, and the physical meaning of these numerical phenomena remain unexplored still. Yet in my career I have several times discovered new mathematical formulations which have led to new products. In the late 1970's I discovered Atomic Modeling which revolutionized computer performance modeling, measurement, and sizing. In the early 1990's I discovered new ways to express the time-dependent behavior of program code, which led to reductions of program code size of 50% of the original size for all programs to which it was applied. I mention these facts merely to convince the reader that my intuition has a history of success in the practical application of new mathematics. Now I am completely convinced that the Rodin Torus will likewise lead to new and revolutionary advances in art and science. Mr. Rodin's work has suffered from a lack of adequate scientific attention, and I am sure that as the research momentum builds and the proper relationship between the Rodin Torus and conventional science is fully understood, both areas of endeavor will attain new heights. I am very much looking forward to playing a role in this adventure. Russell P. Blake Former Senior Researcher Microsoft Research RUSSELL P. BLAKE RESUME MoneyFacts, Inc. (1/99 present) President. Quantum Computing for Computer Scientists

01:28:23
This talk discards hand-wavy pop-science metaphors and answers a simple question: from a computer science perspective, how can a quantum computer outperform a classical computer? Attendees will learn the following: - Representing computation with basic linear algebra (matrices and vectors) - The computational workings of qbits, superposition, and quantum logic gates - Solving the Deutsch oracle problem: the simplest problem where a quantum computer outperforms classical methods - Bonus topics: quantum entanglement and teleportation The talk concludes with a live demonstration of quantum entanglement on a real-world quantum computer, and a demo of the Deutsch oracle problem implemented in Q# with the Microsoft Quantum Development Kit. This talk assumes no prerequisite knowledge, although comfort with basic linear algebra (matrices, vectors, matrix multiplication) will ease understanding. Weekly Producer Challenge 2 (Using a Reversed Loop)

33:24
The Weekly Producer Challenge is a fun, fast and free online event where your skills get wonderfully boosted with a dose of the weird. Like the Facebook page to get notified when the next challenge is going to happen and to download files - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Weekly-Producer-Challenge/290456104411542?fref=ts The whole idea is to force yourself to think unconventionally about the entire way you’ve learnt to produce music. We’re going to step outside the boundaries so you can get an alternate view on how to approach making tunes. The event will be live streamed at 1pm AEST on Saturdays by your host Tom Cosm, with live chatroom and audio production trivia. There will be a quick recap of the previous challenge, showcasing some of the strangeness from other users, followed by the current challenge being set, with Tom attempting it himself at the end. Participants are welcome to pass their complete challenges on to Tom, or you can play quietly on your own without anyone knowing. Anyone is welcome, no matter what your level of skill, because it will all get thrown out the door anyway! All you need is your computer, a DAW and a little bit of courage. To tune in, visit http://www.twitch.tv/tomcosm Finally, feel free to share this around any producer groups you are part of, the more the merrier.

Google I/O 2015 - A little badass. Beautiful. Tech and human. Work and love. ATAP.

01:23:31
Speaker(s): .mudge (aka Peiter) Zatko; Ivan Poupyrev; Rachid El Guerrab; Regina Dugan Description: Optimized for speed. Because we are, well, impatient. And someone should be. The engines on Project Ara are revved. We're on the road to Puerto Rico. Creating the hardware equivalent of the software app ecosystem sometimes feels a little Dakar Rally, sometimes a little Le Mans. Fast. Difficult. Worth it. Speaking of fast… We'll debut our newest Spotlight Story ‘Fast-and-Furious’ style. Justin Lin’s live action short goes live at I/O. In full 360 with 3D soundsphere. Whaaaat? Exactly. And wearables that we hope will blow your socks off. (We mean this more literally than you might think…) Our goal: break the tension between the ever-shrinking screen sizes necessary to make electronics wearable and our ability to have rich interactions with them. Why can’t you have both? We like to build new things. Sometimes seemingly impossible things. We can build them faster together. Watch all Google I/O 2015 videos at: g.co/dev/io15videos. #io15

Voyager Reawakens, Arctic Turns Icy and Extreme Climate Norms (566)

Voyager 1 spacecraft awakens after 37 years the same day that the Chinese space station plunges to Earth. Arctic Sea Ice is above 2006 & 2007 Levels and the Arctic is refreezing as the Arctic Vortex recombines in on itself. Look for record cold temperatures later in the week in the Arctic Circle. Looking at longer term data the extremes we see in climate fit withing the norm, on century levels, not just the satellite record. Fermat's Theorems - Professor Raymond Flood

01:01:34
Gresham Professor of Geometry, Raymond Flood, begins his series 'Great Mathematicians, Great Mathematics' with Pierre de Fermat:http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/fermats-theorems The seventeenth century mathematician Pierre de Fermat is mainly remembered for contributions to number theory even though he often stated his results without proof and published very little. He is particularly remembered for his ‘last theorem’ which was only proved in the mid-1990s by Andrew Wiles. He also stated other influential results, in particular Fermat’s ‘Little Theorem’ about certain large numbers which can be divided by primes. His ‘Little Theorem’ is the basis of important recent work in cryptography and internet security. The transcript and downloadable versions of the lecture are available from the Gresham College Website: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/fermats-theorems Gresham College has been giving free public lectures since 1597. This tradition continues today with all of our five or so public lectures a week being made available for free download from our website. There are currently over 1,500 lectures free to access or download from the website. The Best Bitcoin Opportunity 2018

43:07
Bitqyck is changing the e-commerce landscape! When you take advantage of a new product from them in its first few days/weeks, you will get FirstMover Credits! When you acquire FM Credits for a product or service, Bitqyck takes 5% of ALL the sales of that product/service and then every month they take that total and divide it up evenly among all #FirstMover Credits for that particular product/service. This is paid every month, perpetually throughout the lifetime of the product/service. FM Credits are very limited, so get them when they are available! WOW! What other company out there gives you a commission from your sales, AND a residual monthly income for life from EVERYONE’S sales of a product/service?? This is just one thing that separates Bitqyck from the rest of the business and e-commerce world. There are so many more, that I can’t list them all here......... But hell, I’ll try with a few! 1) It’s absolutely, 1000% FREE to be a Bitqyck affiliate! 2) You make 10% Commissions on everything you sell! 3) No requirements, no quotas, no holding product, no autoship. 4) You also get 20% of your commissions as Bitqy cryptocurrency, which gives you ACTUAL COMMON STOCK OWNERSHIP of Bitqyck, the global technology C Corp company!!!😱😱 (a company that gives its ownership away to its value creators?? SAY WHAT!) 5) Some select products/services will also give you BitqyM if you purchase them yourself! BitqyM also gives you residual monthly income from the mining operations of Bitqyck!!😳🙌 And I still haven’t scratched the surface yet of everything this amazing company is doing! There is no other company out there like Bitqyck! And they are a US-based, Dallas, Texas technology company right here in the US! But their reach is global and growing stronger everyday! In just 7 months, they are already a multi-million dollar company with NO DEBT! These guys aren’t going anywhere, and quite frankly, neither am I!! Symposium on Blockchain for Robotic Systems

07:48:24
Robotic systems are revolutionizing applications from transportation to health care. However, many of the characteristics that make robots ideal for future applications—such as autonomy, self-learning, and knowledge sharing—also raise concerns about the evolution of the technology. Blockchain, an emerging technology that originated in the digital currency field, shows great potential to make robotic operations more secure, autonomous, flexible, and even profitable, thereby bridging the gap between purely scientific domains and real-world applications. This symposium seeks to move beyond the classical view of robotic systems to advance our understanding about the possibilities and limitations of combining state-of-the art robotic systems with blockchain technology. EINSTEIN'S UNIVERSE (Fully Closed Captioned)

01:57:09
Based on Nigel Calder’s book Einstein’s Universe, this fascinating and rare film going by the same title has been re-mastered and digitally enhanced to bring Einstein fans a priceless experience. Narrated by the charismatic Peter Ustinov and hosted by Nigel Calder, the film was first broadcast on the centenary of Albert Einstein’s Birth; March 14th, 1979. Ustinov takes the viewer on a wonderful experience through the McDonald Observatory at the University of Texas-Austin where he is thoroughly enlightened on the great physicist’s theories, especially General Relativity, by a renowned team of scientists including Dennis Sciama, Roger Penrose, John Wheeler, Wallace Sergeant, Irwin Shapiro, Sidney Drell, and Ken Brecher. Included in Ustinov’s experience at the McDonald Observatory are experiments to help understand gravity, warped space, how light responds to gravity, the "Doppler effect" and how radio waves, as used in police radar, are an unbeatable way of measuring speed. From these simpler experiments much larger concepts are drawn, such as the discovery of a Binary Pulsar, the nature of black holes and how they are created, and the ultimate theory of how the universe was formed. Other demonstrations measure the speed of light, how time passes more slowly for people traveling in an airplane, the incredible accuracy of the Atomic Clock in Washington, DC and how time itself would appear to stop at the surface of a black hole. The conclusion of the program portrays Einstein as a great humanitarian. Although known as the "father of the Atomic Bomb", his greatest concern was for the potentially devastating effects splitting the atom could have on the future of mankind. His famous letter to President Franklin Roosevelt warned that although the splitting of the atom to detonate an atomic bomb could be used to end World War II, it could also potentially be used for far more deadly ends. This last thought is the subject of another Nigel Calder book, Nuclear Nightmares, and a second BBC program to explore this subject in more depth. Modelling the World - Professor Raymond Flood

57:03
An area of which 19th century British mathematics could be uniformly proud was applied mathematics where new techniques were used on a wide range of problems. Figures such as William Thompson (later Lord Kelvin), Peter Guthrie Tait, George Stokes and James Clerk Maxwell succeeded in applying mathematics to understanding the physical world. They worked on many topics including mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, hydrodynamics and the theory of gases. This lecture will introduce and discuss some of their influential achievements. The transcript and downloadable versions of the lecture are available from the Gresham College website: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/modelling-the-world Gresham College has been giving free public lectures since 1597. This tradition continues today with all of our five or so public lectures a week being made available for free download from our website. Elliptic Curves: Facts, Conjectures and Applications

01:04:53
Elliptic curves E can be given by plane projective cubic curves and so seem to be very simple objects. A first hint for more structure is that there is an algebraic addition law for the rational points. In fact, there is a natural isomorphism of E with its Jacobian variety, and so E is at the same time a curve of low degree and an abelian variety of smallest possible dimension. This is the reason for a very rich and deep theory behind making elliptic curves to ideal objects for both theoretical and experimental investigations, always with a strong algorithmic aspect. As outcome we find an abundance of key conjectures of arithmetic geometry inspired (and even proven) by elliptic curves. It will be the purpose of the talk to explain some of these conjectures and results and, as important and rather astonishing side effect, state why these properties of elliptic curves make them to a most efficient and secure tool for public key crypto systems based on discrete logarithms.

Benedict Gross: Rational points on hyperelliptic curves [2016]

54:36
Rational points on hyperelliptic curves Speaker: Benedict Gross, Harvard University Date and Time: Tuesday, November 1, 2016 - 10:00am to 11:00am Location: Fields Institute, Room 230 Abstract: One of Manjul Bhargava's most surprising results in arithmetic geometry is his proof that most hyperelliptic curves of a fixed genus (at least 2) which are defined over the rational numbers have no rational points. I will review the arguments in his proof, which involve pencils of quadrics and homogenous spaces for the Jacobian. I will also discuss some joint work with Bhargava and Wang, where we show that a positive proportion of hyperelliptic curves of a fixed genus which are defined over the rational numbers have no points over any extension of odd degree. The Two Marbles Problem

09:54
This is a neat little puzzle I first spotted on a poster written by none other than the Bug himself. It really stuck with me as a favourite programming puzzle. We try to find an efficient algorithm (in terms of worst case) to find the lowest floor at which a marble will break if dropped off a building. I have a proof that generalises to n balls really quickly and simply, but it's not constructive and so it's for another day. As always, comments (especially suggestions) are welcome and adored, and not just adoring comments.

Legends Room (LGD) Voted #1 PICK for 2017-2018

04:20
The Legends Room is a VIP gentlemen's club in Las Vegas, Nevada. Is was the first to introduce the LGD coin. A cryptocurrency used within the club to pay for everything from VIP dances, to memberships, and drinks. It's pure genius. The token was implemented in April so why talk about it now, why talk about it here?? Because the club is expanding in other parts of the USA, and other cabaret's and clubs are going to be adopting the LGD token over the corse of the year. Every club is expected to increase the market cap from 1 to 5 million dollars, and we are looking at possible 100's of clubs adopting the technology.

Breaking News - Extreme weather such as 'Beast from the East' linked to solar cycle

07:07
Extreme cold winter weather - similar to the conditions that gripped the UK with the arrival of the 'Beast from the East' - could be linked to the solar cycle, scientists say.Icy conditions and heavy snowfall are common in Europe and Asia when the sun is in a 'weaker' phase.Previous research has shown this current phase could become so severe it may trigger a mini Ice Age by 2050.Past mini Ice Ages - which happen when the sun gets 'unusually cool' and have several solar cycles with reduced activity for decades - have resulted in London's River Thames to freeze over. The sun is currently in a weaker phase of the 11-year solar cycle, suggesting the spate of cold weather could be a direct result of the sun's magnetic 'heartbeat' - and there could be worse to come.Scientists at the University of Exeter analysed how Arctic sea ice levels and global sea and air temperatures have changed in line with solar cycles dating back to 1979.During the sun's 'weaker' phases, there are often warm spells across the Arctic in winter, as well as heavy snowfall across the Eurasian sector. The research shows that although human activity has a strong effect on the planet's weather patterns solar fluctuations still have a significant influence.Lead author Dr Indrani Roy said: 'In spite of all other influences and complexities, it is still possible to segregate a strong influence from the sun.'There are reductions of sea-ice in the Arctic and a growth in the Eurasian sector is observed in recent winters.'This study shows those trends are related and current weaker solar cycle is contributing to that.'The sun is a huge ball of electrically-charged hot gas that moves, generating a powerful magnetic field, that goes through a cycle, called the solar cycle.During this 11-year cycle, similar to a heartbeat, the star experiences active and quiet periods known as the solar maximum and solar minimum. The solar cycle affects activity on the surface of the sun, such as sunspots which are caused by the sun's magnetic fields. One way to track the solar cycle is by counting the Sunspot Number (SSN).During weaker solar phases, the SSN drops, while stronger phases see a higher SSN.The new study observed that during periods when the SSN falls below average, Arctic atmospheric warming extends from the lower troposphere to high up in the planet's upper stratosphere. On the other hand there is a cooling during more active phases, when the SSN is above average. The study shows that the solar cycle can be linked with the Polar vortex and Arctic Oscillation phenomenon, which affects winter Arctic and Eurasian climate. It subsequently can influence weather conditions in Europe, including the UK, Scandinavia and Asia.Last month, researchers said they had found a way to track the sun's solar cycles.Scientists from the University of California, San Diego, said they'd pinpointed the next solar minimum to around 2050.It could make the sun 'unusually cool', leaving us with conditions that could create a 'm AutoNews- Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-5522707/Extreme-weather-Beast-East-linked-solar-cycle.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

Worries of a Crypto-Crash, Doug Casey, & the Story of a Drug Lord

01:15:48
Subscribe to stay up to date with the latest videos ► https://www.sbry.co/suBiH Episode 30 - Worries of a Crypto-Crash, Doug Casey, & the Story of a Drug Lord Porter continues his discussion from last week on the risks of Bitcoin and the entire crypto markets. How far behind the curve are investors, businesses, and governments? How many people will be hurt when Bitcoin finally comes back down to earth? Porter tells you why he thinks Bitcoin mania can go on for much longer than you ever think possible, and how an eventual crypto-crash could have a profound impact on our economy and society over time. Buck tells listeners about the most disturbing incident of police brutality he has ever seen - recalling the case of Daniel Shaver’s killing at the hands of a Mesa, AZ police officer in January 2016. Buck’s recent article in The Hill on the terrible outcome of the officer’s trial has caught fire on social media with over 40,000 shares. Keep in mind, Buck has worked for the NYPD, has family members who are beat cops, and tends to lean towards law enforcement's side. "But if you watch this video, Porter, it will haunt you." 12:02 Porter lays out the bullish and bearish cases for Bitcoin. Ask 100 Americans if they own Bitcoin, and the answer is overwhelmingly "no." But the same could be said of Amazon stock in 2001, and that didn't stop it from crashing 75% even in a decade where it posted life-changing gains overall. 16:48 Before Doug comes on air, Porter shares the story of a dinner they had with Ann Coulter a few years back in New Orleans. If you're an Ann Coulter fan, well, Porter's sure there's a lot about her he doesn't know. "But I was just shocked about how little she knew about anything related to history or finance." 30:33 Doug Casey explains why he – a leading libertarian thinker and bold speculative investor – has been spending eight months out of every year in Latin America lately, and why he's chosen his on-the-go lifestyle. 45:05 Porter asks Doug if there's any connection between the enormous and growing piles of debt in major economies, and Bitcoin's soaring prices. Doug says absolutely – and while this will eventually destroy the traditional monetary system, there's a very positive side effect looming. 47:30 Doug tells the story of how he was given his very first Bitcoin in Argentina in 2013, as a "thank you" for buying his friend lunch. It was a physical Bitcoin – they do exist – and while it was only worth $13 at the time, his friend who was big on Bitcoin back then isn't exactly sweating it. 49:55 Since Doug is now leery of Bitcoin at these prices, and considers the stock market a bubble, Porter asks the worldly speculator where he puts money he doesn't want to take much chance losing. Doug reveals his favorite safe(ish) investment in what he calls a "financial twilight" where everything seems overpriced. Learn more at www.bigspeculation.com
