JUNOS Prep Series - Part 3 : Prefix-lists & Route Filters This last part of the JUNOS Prep Series will introduce you to how rou:ng works and specifically how it is configured in a JUNOS device. Besides actual rou:ng opera:ons, you will learn about protocol independent rou:ng as well as OSPF configura:on, the ini:al part of the course will help you get familiar with rou:ng decision processes and the configura:on of rou:ng virtualiza:on through the use of rou:ng instances. The second part of this course will deal with the use of rou:ng policies, both the default system policies and how they affect the way routers import and exports actual rou:ng informa:on, as well as custom policies you can create in order to affect the default router decisions to something more suitable to your company policy. The final part of this course will explain a rather versa:le tools in JUNOS, called firewall filters; you will learn to filter and restrict traffic using firewall filters but also how to use it for other more advanced func:ons such as QoS and an:-spoofing using Reverse Path Forwarding checks. Upon comple:on of this last course, if you have followed and prac:ced the en:re series you will be more than ready to take your JNCIA-JUNOS test If you would like to view the entire course, visit www.ine.com to sign up for an All Access Pass! https://streaming.ine.com/c/junos-part3-routing-essentials

Introduction to JunOS : IPv4 & IPv6 Routing Basics in JunOS : Part 1 This course is intended for professional network engineers who already have a working knowledge of Ethernet switching and IP routing on Cisco IOS-based platforms and would like to quickly transfer this knowledge to Juniper’s JunOS-based platforms. The course begins with JunOS fundamentals, such as accessing the JunOS CLI, managing the configuration and OS files, enabling remote access, and performing basic verifications. We then progress to configuration and verification of common core networking protocols, such as Ethernet VLANs and Trunking, Spanning-Tree Protocol, RIP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, and MPLS. Throughout these configurations, students will examine side-by-side comparisons between Cisco’s IOS, IOS XE, and IOS XR operating systems and Juniper’s JunOS. This video describes how to configure IDP on an SRX Series device. Since there are several licensing scenarios that can apply in this situation, please refer to KB16675 at http://kb.juniper.net/KB16675 for instruction on how to generate and add a new IDP license, or to renew and update an existing license for the SRX device. Configuration: 1. Install the IDP license 2. Download and install the IDP Signature Database 3. Configure the IDP Policy 4. Enable a security policy for IDP inspection After configuration, you should verify IDP inspection with live traffic. For the text version of this video, refer to http://kb.juniper.net/KB16489. The configuration groups feature in Junos OS enables you to create a group containing configuration statements and to direct the inheritance of that group’s statements in the rest of the configuration. The same group can be applied to different sections of the configuration, and different sections of one group’s configuration statements can be inherited in different places in the configuration. Configuration groups enable you to create smaller, more logically constructed configuration files, making it easier to configure and maintain Junos OS.

A brief video on how to create large topologies with a small amount of Juniper boxes through the use of logical systems, we split the box into up to 15 different logical systems and assign a physical interface to each logical system, we then use VLAN tags to simulate our links between the boxes, all the routers connect to switches trunking the VLANs on all ports.
