James O'Reilly of 'The Address' - 'Royal Blues' acoustic 2016

Irish singer-songwriter James O'Reilly of Dublin-based band The Address, singing an acoustic version of Royal Blues from his home, (The title track from the upcoming EP) August 2016. www.facebook.com/theaddressofficial bookings: [email protected] LYRICS: - Royal Blues - Of two minds re: your advance As we meet amongst the dancers Read/Write and commit to cell And as I sit and sift my way through the day On all those sites/sights of my age I can't help but muse on my meaning Oh but I could give you, man So much more than this my love Nah fuck it where's the door.. And I Man I was Sayin somethin's comin Can you feel me runnin cause I There's always someone To be there We care not So foreign bodies fill my eyes As I lay in the garden and fantasize About all of the love I don't know So they give me a tune They say 'Come now, sing that back to me Except in 6 and in the key of E' The odds are on but I'm scared Oh but my feet wish to walk on softer earth than this This constant concrete, it just begins to hurt And I I was Sayin somethin's comin Can you feel me running cause I I was born in the ocean frozen from fear of attack Man I could see for miles I could stay here ya know? Yea man I could stay But then ripples caught my eyes Aww to be there we care not So make love to your favourite friend Then let's see if she'll stay your friend Who knows what they think those girls They're tired But overall I suppose I've got it made I've got half the load for twice the pay But then my poor mental thumbs are left just twiddlin away.. As I said it's alright now I was born in the ocean frozen from fear

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. In one short year, Vancouver roots rock band Factories & Alleyways (Jeremy Allingham, Matt Denny-Keys and Josh Denny-Keys) has gone from casually strumming and singing its music over beer and cigarettes in a dingy basement jam space, to receiving critical praise in major publications, national radio airplay and invitations to some of the coolest gigs going. After touring to support the release of the band's self-titled, debut EP, the good news started rolling in. The record was added to CBC Radio 3 and garnered a number of plays on CBC Radio One. It also charted on college radio stations across the country. Print and online publications weren't far behind. Exclaim! Magazine, The Georgia Straight, Beatroute Magazine, The Province newspaper, popular blog forfolkssake.com and many more praised Factories & Alleyways' debut effort. The band was selected, along with some of Vancouver's best talent (Daniel Wesley, Shaun Verrault, etc.) to record at the historic final day of tracking at the legendary Mushroom Studios. Allingham and the Denny-Keys were also invited to play with other high-profile artists at Record Store Day at Neptoon Records in Vancouver. It is riding this wave of momentum that Factories & Alleyways celebrates the release of its first full-length record, "Canadiana", due out on June 11th, 2013. Why 'Canadiana'? Well, all too often, the combination of country, folk and rock music is boiled down to a singular term: Americana. While Americana has been used to describe some of music's all-time greats, it doesn't do justice to the band's proud roots. In Allingham's and the Denny-Keys' music you can hear the power and beauty of the unique Canadian landscape. Warm three-part harmonies rise up like the morning sun over the west coast. Vivid storytelling lyrics sweep across the record like winds over the prairies. Outbursts of rhythmic power and loud gang vocals tower and resonate like echoes through the Rocky Mountains. Dynamic piano parts ripple and flow like the waters of the Great Lakes. And the whole record, from front to back, a raucous whirlwind of energetic music-making, no different than a maritime storm. This music is Canadiana, plain and simple. "Canadiana" endeavours to capture the soul; the celebration, the love, loss and heartache, of Canadian life. "My Brother" is a story about labour unrest in small town B.C. after fires burn community-supporting sawmills to the ground. Campfire anthem "Pass Along" celebrates the simple beauty of breathing the air, hearing the music and being alive. Blue-collared scorcher "Without a Buck" regrets nothing as it tells the tale of gambling everything you've got and coming up empty, only to long for the true love you lost in the first place. "Hallelujah" and "The Back Door" quietly reflect upon the power and meaning of memories and how they shape our lives forever. "Life Is Now" reminds us that, here in Canada, we live in one of the greatest places on Earth and every day is a gift. Factories & Alleyways is a band of brothers, all of whom play and sing the music like its their one true love and that love is all they got. Allingham and the Denny-Keys are inspired by their city (Vancouver) and its streets, and by the countryside (Langley) where they grew up. They're inspired by the records that their parents spun endlessly throughout their youths. They're inspired by the people they love, the adventures they've had and those that lie ahead. They're inspired by a cold drink and a good story. The members all write, sing and play multiple instruments. The band is proud to celebrate the release of "Canadiana" with a tour of British Columbia in June and an album release party at the Biltmore Cabaret in Vancouver on Saturday, July 20th. "Canadiana" was written and produced by Factories & Alleyways. The record was engineered by Jesse Gander (Japandroids / The Pack AD) at the Hive Creative Labs. It was mastered by Stuart McKillop at Raincity Recorders. The album will be available on vinyl, CD and online.

The Host Country - Fare Thee Well

04:47
Our entry for the 2016 NPR Tiny Desk Contest (Lyrics) Is this the way you always pictured it to be when did the stars in your eyes die new variations on the same old theme it shouldnt come as a surprise One day you think you're firmly planted to the ground and you will never need a hand then so sudden it creeps up without a sound and you're staring down at sinking sand So before we go and I never get the chance to say to all I've come to know listen now to me carefully Fare Thee Well to all those I love peace be the journey for you now I'd love to say I'll see you up above but I feel the heat upon my brow And so you think that you can drown it all away the flood will be nothing but kind but all it brings is death and decay and magnifies the darkness in your mind Pretty soon you find you're only staring back the future holds no lasting view you're so desperate to make up for what you lack that you forget what it is to be you

You saw the video, now GET THE BOOK: http://www.UnitedBreaksGuitarsBook.com. Looking for a unique speaker for your next event: http://www.UnitedBreaksGuitars.com for case studies and highlights of Dave's speaking tour. There is now a video response: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_X-Qoh__mw Full Story: http://www.davecarrollmusic.com/story/united-breaks-guitars - In the spring of 2008, Sons of Maxwell were traveling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and my Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. I discovered later that the $3500 guitar was severely damaged. They didn't deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people I communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. So I promised the last person to finally say no to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world. United Breaks Guitars is the first of those songs.

Lyrics - My rifle pony and me Sun is sinking in the west The cattle go down to the stream The redwing settles in the nest It's time for a cowboy to dream Purple light in the canyon that is where I long to be With my three good companions just my rifle pony and me Gonna hang my sombrero on the limb of a tree Coming home sweet my darling just my rifle pony and me Whippoorwill in the willow sings a sweet melody Riding to Amarillo just my rifle pony and me No more cows to be ropin' No more strays will I see 'round the bend shell be waitin For my rifle pony and me For my rifle my pony and me _______________________ Lyrics - Cindy I wish I was a apple hangin' in a tree And everytime my sweetheart passed She'd take a bite off me She told me that she loved me She called me sugar plum She threw her arms around me I thought my time had come. Get along home, Cindy-Cindy Get along home, Cindy-Cindy Get along home, Cindy-Cindy I'll marry you sometime. I wish I had a needle As fine as I could sew I'd sew her in my pocket And down the road I go Cindy hugged and kissed me She wrung her hands and cried Swore I was the prettiest thing That ever lived or died. Get along home, Cindy-Cindy Get along home, Cindy-Cindy Get along home, Cindy-Cindy I'll marry you sometime...

Produced by David Angelski for The Field Inc. Kinda Complicated Lyrics Some call it crazy but I call it unique I say you couldn’t replicate it on a video screen And I overheard them saying that we got a disease But I only got you and you only got me There’s a moment when I’m smiling and I’m shiny and gold Or a bad, bad feeling creeping in my bones And I like it that way cause I’m weak in the knees But when it’s not half amazing well it kinda looks bleak Yeah I only got you And you only got me I go from elevated To down right devastated It’s kinda complicated We’re going in and out but baby now we’re (all alright) We have our ups and downs but baby now we’re (all alright) We’re burning hot and cold there’s no mistaking (all alright) It’s kinda complicated There’s a dictionary page dedicated to us It says some day we’re goanna shine and some days we’ll rust But they left out the meaning didn’t give it a name Cause they couldn’t find a word for our kind of insane Yeah I only got you And only got me No I just can’t explain it So let me paraphrase it It’s kinda complicated We’re going in and out but baby now we’re (all alright) We have our ups and downs but baby now we’re (all alright) We’re burning hot and cold there’s no mistaking (all alright) It’s kinda complicated It’s kinda complicated Simple so antiquated It’s kinda complicated I’m moving forward and you wanna rewind I got a quick, quick fix called a bottle of wine I know we’re pretty complex it aint always a breeze But girl I only got you and you only got me Yeah I only got you And you only got me I go from frustrated To feeling liberated We’re kinda complicated We’re going in and out but baby now we’re (all alright) We have our ups and downs but baby now we’re (all alright) We’re burning hot and cold there’s no mistaking (all alright) It’s kinda complicated It’s kinda complicated #KindaComplicated #ScottHelman #HotelDeVille #Pop #Indie #musicvideo

How do we include all members of the tribe in a society that gives meaning and purpose? "Deep, deep down, I know we are all in this together" says Jeff, who was born with Downs Syndrome. Jeff was able to dive into the loss of his mother in a fatal car crash through creative outlet, scripting, shooting and producing the autobiographical short Save Me Mine. His purpose? To "extend my love to my mother and my father." Sharing about the making of this film, Jeff is accompanied by Hester Wagner, a mentor and advocate who played the part of his mother in the film. Futures Explored, together with Inclusion Films created the collaborative Futures Films to provide employment training services to adults with developmental disabilities. In this program, Jeff has worked as a writer, grip, editor, sound mixer and in other crew jobs on a variety of films. He shares his biggest hopes for the future with passion and directness in this piece. Jeff is director/writer of his personal story Save Me Mine. Jeff was born with Down Syndrome. He enrolled in the Livermore Film and Media Workshop, run by Futures Explored and Inclusion Films, to fulfill his greatest ambition, becoming a director. And with the support of his instructors, mentors and classmates he’s now able to live out that dream with this film. Jeff is truly an inspiration, through his warm personality, openness and through the perseverance of everything he’s overcome. He has also worked as a writer, grip, editor, sound mixer and in other crew jobs on a variety of films in the workshop and on paid projects for Futures Films. Jeff also became the mascot for the other speakers during TEDxLivermore, standing in the wings to support others whose nerves were running as wildly as his own. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

Deal (cover) Johnny Marx

02:30
Johnny Marx performs live in Madison Square Park, New York City singing and playing a real acoustic piano. "Deal" is a classic Grateful Dead song. It's one of many classic songs in Johnny's repertoire of rock, blues and soul tunes. Johnny's piano style is a contemporary interpretation of Stride. Nearly extinct today, Stride is a Jazz style requiring extraordinary dexterity of the pianist's left hand. Stride evolved in the 1920s and 1930s in Harlem among piano legends Fats Waller, James Johnson and Willy Smith. We hope you enjoy watching these videos of Johnny performing your musical favorites by Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Elton John and more. If you're in New York City, come to the Park on weekends when the weather is nice to hear Johnny perform live. He takes requests. Check out these links: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/nyregion/new-york-panorama.html?_r=1& http://www.madisonsquarepark.org/ http://www.facebook.com/johnny.marx #MarxInTheParks Fans favorite questions: How do you move the piano into the park? "Ah the logistics of getting the piano out. It's not as crazy as people seem to think. I have two incredible roadies who move my piano for me. I keep it in a Manhattan mini storage unit, and the roadies load it onto a truck, drive it out to the park and set it up for me." http://www.facebook.com/enzo.piano What attracts you to music and performing? "Creating pleasure for other people is my favorite aspect of performing and something I've become addicted to." Johnny plays a Betsey Ross spinet piano (serial number 133,243) manufactured by the Lester Piano Company of Philadelphia about 70 years ago. HEATH LEDGER IN TEN THINGS AND THE SLAMBOVIAN CIRCUS OF DREAMS

10:54
Sequel to "Celebrating Heath Ledger ~ Don't Postpone Joy" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHud38nEbdk Some touch us in brief or remote encounters and the blessings last a lifetime. Heath Ledger was one. Thank you. One day Matilda Rose Ledger will surely see the breadth of the love for her father. And may she know this love never goes away, but continues to ripple out in the universe reaching out with love toward all that is good. Heath was such a joy to work with while making this video I smiled at him and laughed right along with him. Looking at his beautiful face and smile is still a best thing in life for me. I love him more after working on this. Throw your best energy out to the universe and see what comes back. I don't know how to plan my life. But I do know that the only things that overflow in my heart are when I create. It's in the expression of what I feel, of what I am, that makes me whole. Brings me joy. Peace. Livens me up. At Portsmouth, Rhode Island's Common Fence Music Hall February 13, 2010 Joziah Longo, the leader of the Gandalf Murphy and The Slambovian Circus of Dreams gave me enthusiastic permission to use the bands music with my Youtube videos I always encourage viewers to buy the music I use in my videos. And this is especially true for the Slambovian Circus of Dreams *Songs: Desire Better Life Alice in Space Check out the bands schedule Buy the bands music at Slambovian.com http://www.slambovia.com/ At Itunes, too ``````````````````````````````` Desire Lyrics The ghosts Americana have all gathered here today To dream their dreams together and to try and find a way To get the hope we used to have to come back into play Oh desire, oh desire come again There's giants roaming in our streets the workers fear their din They swing their heavy bottom lines they threaten life and limb They kill their loyal labor slaves at some financial whim Oh desire, oh desire come again Oh desire, oh desire come again There's terrorizing strangers knocking downstairs at our door They threaten everything we know to even some vague score Where they began and where well end its hard to say no more Oh desire, oh desire come again Oh desire, oh desire come again Whoa light of love what can you send Whoa light of love we need a friend Sometimes fear that its the end| A land of milk and honey, a land where there's no fear That's built on love not money oh how can we bring it here A land that is for everyone lets wipe away each tear Oh desire oh desire come again Oh desire, oh desire come again Oh desire, oh desire, come and bring your holy fire Oh desire, oh desire come again. Heath Ledger sings Can't Take My Eyes Off You A Facebook upload of this video - lips not in snyc at FB: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=529661307&v=app_2392950137&ref=profile#!/video/video.php?v=397910471307 The opening video shot is at Third Beach five minutes from my house. The waves at the end were shot in 2009 at Ruggles Avenue here in Newport, Rhode Island. Surfers love this Atlantic Ocean spot. The camera is not high definition. This video was especially difficult to make. Most difficult was editing the deleted scenes that needed days of editing. It was necessary to separate every one or two seconds to get the English and the French divided. And even then the audio didn't line up at all. A second of audio could be missing easily because the audio for the English would overlap and be in the French second or two and vice versa, at best. That is the reason for the words sounding mispronounced, while in the movie, they were really pronounced correctly. The audio had to be extracted twice for the second car outtake scene. It was perfect, then it wasn't. Sometimes, it is just a mystery and you keep trying. Syncing the lips with Heaths song, Cant Take My Eyes Off You was a challenge. I am crossing my fingers that Youtube allows Heaths song from the movie. I did the best that I could and then some. I included a cut with the English and French still entwined, as well. I thought it was fun to watch. The yellow and white lettering are used respectively for the English and the French.
