For Charlie Harvey, crushing superintendent of Big Creek Sand and Gravel in Borger, Texas, achieving the high production needed to meet recent demand meant investing in new equipment that could double – and in some cases triple – the operation’s production.

Types of Rock Crusher Machines Types of Rock Crusher Machines What is a crusher machine? A crusher is a machine designed to reduce large rocks into smaller rocks, gravel, or rock dust. ... The earliest crushers were hand-held stones, where the weight of the stone provided a boost to muscle power, used against a stone anvil. Querns and mortars are types of these crushing devices. How does a jaw crusher work? A Jaw Crusher reduces large size rocks or ore by placing the rock into compression. A fixed jaw, mounted in a "V" alignment is the stationary breaking surface, while the movable jaw exerts force on the rock by forcing it against the stationary plate. What is a crusher plant? A Crushing plant is one-stop crushing installation, which can be used for rock crushing, garbage crushing, building materials crushing and other similar operations. Crushing plants may be either fixed or mobile. Rock Crushers fill the duty of rock size reduction and can be classified in various stages of duties: 1. Primary crushing is the first crushing stage, 2. secondary crushing is the second, 3. Tertiary crushing is the third, 4. Quaternary crushing is a rare forth stage of rock crushing, Coarse crushing includes crushing operations discharging at sizes 4- to 6-in. or Metallurgical Content coarser; intermediate crushing comprises operations taking feeds 6- or 8-in. maximum and making products down to -1/2" or 3/8". Fine crushing is reduction by crushing to 1/4" or finer; the distinctions are not sharp. Rock Crushing is a mechanical operation in which a sufficient force is applied to relatively brittle solid particles in such directions that failure of the bonding forces in the particles is brought about. When the problem of crushing is thus approached, it becomes clear that crushing machines must be designed to exert either pushes or pulls on individual particles, since there are no other kinds of mechanical forces, and that the solid particles must be so introduced into and maintained in the force zone that the forces available can be applied to them. The study of the mechanics of materials has resulted in a classification of mechanical forces and of the structural elements for resisting them which, applied in reverse, supplies a terminology and basis for classification of crushing machines along mechanical lines. Thus the common load-bearing members are beams, columns, and ties; stresses induced in these by loading are tensile, compressive, and shearing; and the applied loads are stationary, slow-moving, or impact. Most crushers load the solid particles they crush as beams or short columns, but explosive shattering, whether by dynamite or by steam, loads them largely as ties. The induced stresses are mostly those of compression and shear, but tensile stresses arise in beam loading as well as in explosive shattering. The rate of loading in the majority of crushing machines is gradual; impact crushers form an important class, however; stationary loading is unknown. rock crusher machines types of crushers secondary crusher primary crusher gyratory crushers tyouboxJR https://autovehiclex.blogspot.com/ https://twitter.com/1ridha http://ridha.tumblr.com/

We had a customer bring down some black sand tailings from a placer operation he had access to. He said the miners had removed all the gold the could from the black sands and these were the tailings left over after they were finished. The 30 lbs of material he ran had between 1-2 grams of gold! I was amazing to see how much more gold was recovered by our shaker table from "tailings". This was some very rich material and unlike hardrock ore this stuff is just sitting there in piles ready to be dug up and put on a shaker table, no need to mine it or blast it or crush it. If you have black sand tailings from old placer operations please send us a sample and see if we can recover any more gold from your material. Fully rebuilt Manitowoc 4600. We bought it last year, already rebuilt. It had Tier 3 computer controlled Cat engines installed during the rebuild. It has a C-15 for drag/hoist, and a C-9 for swing and travel. The man that built it spared no expense in the rebuild. Everything was brought to new spec, except of course the engines, they were brand new from Caterpillar. According to the man that built it, it was quite a challenge setting it up with these engines, since it had never been done before! I have to give serious props to him, because the fit and finish is awesome, and it looks like a factory setup. It retains the VICON torque converter and air throttle setup. It burns 12 gallon of fuel per hour, which is about 1/5 of what I've been told the old single engine 379 Cat powered 4600's burn. It burns less than 1/2 of the fuel of the most efficient engines that were installed in 4600's, old twin Detroits or Cummins. You have to remember that when these were built in the 70's, most people didn't worry about the price of fuel because it was so cheap. It has 140' of boom, and swings a 6.5 cubic yard bucket. It will handle a 8 yard bucket with a 120' boom. It weighs 430,000 pounds. When you sit in the seat, the operators eye level is 13 feet off the ground. We bought it to mine sand and gravel in IL. It works great in our application. The only problem is finding someone that can operate it. It takes some time in the seat to get productive with one. Once you start to get the hang of it, there is nothing that compares. Being able to reach so far out there (120+ feet) and to be able to dig so deep (60+ feet), and throwing 450-500 tons per hour, show me an excavator that can do that! No one makes a machine that is this size anymore that can handle the duty cycle work of a dragline. If they did, it would be cost prohibitive for a small operation like ours anyway. A new machine like this would have to cost 4 mil or more. Thanks for looking at our machine! We are pretty proud of it!

This engine was originally from a 1956 model 820 Lorain front shovel that was used in the construction of the DC metro system. The machine belonged to Morauer and Hartzell Excavating from 1958 until it was scrapped after spending the remainder of its life converted from shovel to dragline. Morauer sold this machine along with other equipment when they sold the sand and gravel operation in Nanjemoy Md to Florida Rock Industries in 1998. I did spend some time operating the dragline mining sand and gravel but MIke Byam; who worked for Morauer and finally for Florida Rock for a total of 40 years of operating the same machine definitely wins the award for perseverance!! We unfortunately had to scrap the old girl in 1999,the hoist shaft broke and it was determined not cost effective to repair it.I literally interrupted the scrap man getting ready to cut the engine up; I guess it ran to good to just throw it away. This is only the second time it has been started in 10 years! fired right up!!

Phosphate rock is usually found 15-50 feet beneath the ground in a mixture of phosphate pebbles, sand and clay known as phosphate "matrix." The sandy layer above the matrix, called the overburden, is removed using electrically operated draglines. Equipped with large buckets, these draglines remove the overburden, placing it in the previously mined voids, and excavate the matrix, depositing it into a shallow containment area or slurry pit. There, high-pressure water guns turn the material into a watery mixture called slurry, which is sent through pipelines to a processing facility, referred to as a beneficiation plant, where phosphate rock is physically separated from the sand and clay in the matrix. At the plant, the slurry is moved through a series of washing stations and vibrating screens that physically separate clay, sand and pebble-sized particles. The separated phosphate pebbles are moved through dewatering tanks and onto an inventory pile via conveyor belt. The clay particles are then pumped through pipelines into storage ponds (clay settling areas) where these particles sink to the bottom. These ponds function as reservoirs and help Mosaic recycle or reuse approximately 90 percent of the water at its phosphate facilities, while also supporting a variety of wildlife.

I spent the day working with my uncle who runs his own tri-axle dump truck business. His pride and joy is his 2007 Peterbilt 357 tri-axle dump truck with a 565 HP Cummins ISX (pre-emissions), an Eaton-Fuller 18 speed, Eaton 3:90 rears, lift axle, set back front axle, and double-framed. He always keeps it spotless and works it hard every day. I hadn't rode in the cab with him for quite a few years so I went with him today. We hit the road at 6:00 AM and finished up around 4:00 PM or so. 360 miles traveled throughout the day. My uncle has been pretty busy installing septic systems in a lot of residences in southern New Jersey. We hauled three loads of K5 septic sand from a quarry in the NJ Pine Barrens, then went to a different yard and hauled two loads of 3/4 round stone to cover the sand. It was a good and busy day. Been a long time since I rode in the cab of a Peterbilt so I was glad to be able to hop up in the cab of this 357 again.
