All you should know about Big Data – Hadoop,Careers,Scope,Modules,Highpaid jobs

05:05
Get Recruitment Notifications of all private and govt jobs , Mock test details ,Previous year question papers only at Freshersworld.com – the No.1 jobsite for entry level candidates in India. (To register : http://freshersworld.com?src=Youtube ) – This video is all about “Careers and Training courses for Big Data There are a handful of working definitions for big data, but to me it is most simply put as data sets so large and complex that it becomes difficult or impossible to process them using traditional database management applications. Granted, the term may apply differently to different organizations. For a smaller company, facing hundreds of gigabytes of data for the first time may trigger a need to explore new tools. Other companies that generate tons of transactional data, like UPS, wouldn't flinch with their existing toolsets until they hit tens or hundreds of terabytes. For freshers who wants to start learning big data here are a few tips: 1. Begin with the basics: If you are looking at building a career in big data, you can start with developing the core aptitudes such as curiosity, agility, statistical fluency, research, scientific rigor and skeptical nature. You have to decide which facet of data investigation (data wrangling, management, exploratory analysis, prediction) are you looking at acquiring. The first step to learning big data is to develop basic level of familiarity with programming languages. 2. Experience in programming languages: Begin with developing basic data literacy and an analytic mindset by building knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, Pig Latin and HiveQL. Figure out where you want to apply your data analytics skills to describe, predict, and inform business decisions in the specific areas of marketing, human resources, finance, and operations. 3. Expertise in Hadoop: Developing knowledge about Hadoop Map-Reduce and Java is essential if you’re looking to be a high-performance data software engineer. 4. What are you looking for? If you are looking for a career switch to big data, begin with developing the skill sets required to work with Hadoop. A well-rounded understanding of Hadoop requires experience in large-scale distributed systems and knowledge of programming languages. 5. Data Analytics Skills: If you want to learn the fundamentals and want to get an indepth understanding of every aspect of Big Data, the resource material provided by Apache’s library is very useful. The Hadoop programme offered by Apache is an open-source software for reliable, scalable, distributed computing. Some of the other programmes offered are HBase Hive, Mahout, Pig ZooKeeper. 6. Online Courses: The big data universe is still very young, to get a well rounded expertise in big data it is important to learn and hone skills related to the subject. Decide on the course based on the skill set you're looking to get. Just by dedicating some time and energy, you can tackle learning big data with these free online classes. Applications of Big Data Big data includes problems that involve such large data sets and solutions that require a complex connecting the dots. You can see such things everywhere. 1. Quora and Facebook use Big data tools to understand more about you and provide you with a feed that you in theory should find it interesting. The fact that the feed is not interesting should show how hard the problem is. 2. Credit card companies analyze millions of transactions to find patterns of fraud. 3. There are similar problems in defense, retail, genomics, pharma, healthcare that requires a solution. The companies offering jobs on Big Data are : Qualcomm India Pvt Ltd, Accenture, Dev Solutions So let us summarize as Big Data is a group of problems and technologies related to the availability of extremely large volumes of data that businesses want to connect and understand. The reason why the sector is hot now is that the data and tools have reached a critical mass. This occurred in parallel with years of education effort that has convinced organizations that they must do something with their data treasure. Big Data Analytics Vs Big Data Engineering | Big Data Analyst Vs Big Data Engineer | ACADGILD https://acadgild.com/big-data/data-science-training-certification?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=Yotube_UqT-Auk2RB0-bda-vs-bde-faq_20180507 Have you ever confused between Big Data Analytics and Big Data Engineering? Or are they both same? No! They are not. Let’s check, what exactly is Big Data Analytics and Big Data Engineering. What is the difference b/w Big data analytics & Big data Engineering? Data Analytics is the combination of Data Engineering and Data Science. The lines are blur between the analytics and engineering of data. The reason is the overlapping skills of the professionals in both the fields. Nevertheless, following are the basic differences: • Big Data Engineers create platform for “Big Data” Analysis. They usually design, develop and assimilate data from various resources. • The chief responsibility of Data Engineers is to optimize the big data system. It includes the creation of data warehouse to ease the data accessibility for analysis. • Some of the frequently used tools for data engineering are Hadoop, NoSQL, MapReduce and MySQL. • Knowledge of ETL Tools, like StitchData or Segment is immensely valuable amongst data engineering jobs. On the other hand, • Big Data Analytics mostly deals with collecting, manipulating and analyzing data. The key task of a Data Analyst is preparing reports. These reports could be presented through various formats like graphs, charts, dashboards, and infographics. • Some of the vital and in-demand software, querying and statistical languages includes; Matlab, Python, SQL, Hive, Pig, Excel, SAS, R, SPSS • The key responsibility of data analysts is to recognize, assess and implement services and tools from external sources. This is to help data validation and cleansing. Please like and share the video and kindly give your feedbacks and subscribe the channel for more tutorial videos. Preventing Fraud Waste and Abuse through Analytics - SAS Session 16: Big Data 2014 - A PSP Forum

44:19
Preventing Fraud Waste and Abuse through Analytics - SAS Session 16: Big Data 2014 Speakers: Randy Silva, Chief Investigation & Special Operations, CA Board of Equalization & Carl Hammersburg, Government Fraud Specialist/SAS Institute Thumbnail: This video details some of the methods that criminals, external and internal, use in an attempt to defraud government programs and then discusses new efforts that are being employed to stop them. By changing policy and using modern Data Mining and Analytic tools, they are being discovered more rapidly and this saves the Government huge sums of tax payer dollars. This session was presented at the 2014 PSP Big Data Forum -- Managing Government Information Effectively. Extended Description: Traditional approaches (tips, hunches, outdated case files) to dealing with fraud, compliance and security risks aren't sufficient anymore. That's true for all levels of government. Fraud and improper payments continues to be a major issue affecting the fiscal condition of state programs. Fraud and abuse perpetrators and their schemes are constantly evolving and becoming increasingly more sophisticated. Traditional "pay-and-chase" controls are no longer sufficient to address today's complex program integrity challenges. In order to effectively combat fraud and abuse, agencies need to take a holistic approach that focuses on both detection and prevention. In this session, presenters, including Randy Silva, Chief Investigation & Special Operations, from the California Board of Equalization, address challenges, trends and successes from within California as well as looking at a broader perspective from outside the state. Sharing data is critical for the broader perspective and maximum protection, but also a legal and technical hot button. Learn how laws and practices are trending and how analytics are utilized to provide automated and continuous views of risk that can leverage strapped resources and save tens to hundreds of millions of dollars. This video was filmed at the Jan 22, 2014 Big Data-Managing Government Effectively: A Public Sector Partners Education Forum. Data science / Data scientist jobs / courses

Subscribe to see more. How to Be a Data Scientist: Data Science Skill Development : In general terms, Data Science is the extraction of knowledge from large volumes of data that aren't structured, which is a continuation of the field data mining and predictive analytics, also known as knowledge discovery and data mining (KDD). Technology industry is a great career option, no matter how you look at it: Interesting work, high salaries and lots of opportunity. The data used by a Data Scientist can be both structured (metrics or raw numbers) and unstructured (e-mails, images, videos, or social data). The emerging Data Scientist needs to develop business domain knowledge. Frequently, candidates with stellar academic records fail on the job because they fail to apply their knowledge in real-world situations. Candidates must demonstrate quick aptitude for Data Science tools like R, Python, Hadoop, or SAS. Successful Data Scientists are usually convincing story tellers. They ought to be able to communicate the “story” hidden behind their findings. Visualization eases understanding. As Data Scientists often have to create algorithms to extract insights from such complex data, these “data magicians” are expected to be equipped with a variety of skills and experience levels. A Data scientist requires comprehensive mastery of a number of fields, such as software development, data munging, databases, statistics, machine learning and data visualization. Your job might consist of tasks like pulling data out of MySQL databases, becoming a master at Excel pivot tables, and producing basic data visualizations (e.g., line and bar charts). Data Scientists enjoy a median salary of $113,000. You may on occasion analyze the results of an A/B test or take the lead on your company’s Google Analytics account. A company like this is a great place for an aspiring data scientist to learn the ropes. Once you have a handle on your day-to-day responsibilities, a company like this can be a great environment to try new things and expand your skillset. A data scientist with a software engineering background might excel at a company, where it’s more important that a data scientist make meaningful data-like contributions to the production code and provide basic insights and analyses. Data Skills to Get You Hired : 1. Basic Tools 2. Basic Statistics 3. Machine Learning 4. Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra 5. Data Munging 6. Data Visualization & Communication 7. Software Engineering 8. Thinking Like A Data Scientist 9. Guide to Python and R, and which one is best Data scientists around the world are presented with exciting problems to solve. Within the complex questions they have to ask, a growing mountain of data rests a set of insights that can change entire industries. In order to get there, data scientists often rely on programming languages and tools. Python : Python is a versatile programming language that can do everything from data mining to plotting graphs. Its design philosophy is based on the importance of readability and simplicity. From the The Zen of Python: Beautiful is better than ugly. Explicit is better than implicit. Simple is better than complex. Complex is better than complicated. Flat is better than nested. Sparse is better than dense. Readability counts. As you can imagine, algorithms in Python are designed to be easy to read and write. Blocks of Python code are separated by indentations. Within each block, you’ll discover a syntax that wouldn’t be out of place in a technical handbook. Collect raw data Python supports all kinds of different data formats. You can play with comma-separated value documents (known as CSVs) or you can play with JSON sourced from the web. You can import SQL tables directly into your code. You can also create datasets. The Python requests library is a beautiful piece of work that allows you to take data from different websites with a line of code. It simplifies HTTP requests into a line of code. You’ll be able to take data from Wikipedia tables, and once you’ve organized the data you get with beautifulsoup, you’ll be able to analyze them in-depth. You can get any kind of data with Python. If you’re ever stuck, google Python and the dataset you’re looking for to get a solution. Also know about Python vs R and its Benefits. http://thenextweb.com/dd/2016/04/08/start-using-python-andor-r-data-science-one-best/#gref Thus, advanced analytics and Machine Learning skills are high on any industry leader’s list of wanted skills when looking for a Data Scientist to hire. The future business environment will also expect more speed of execution with Data Science projects, so future Data Scientists will not only be expected to have traditional math, statistics, and Machine Learning skills, but also sound knowledge of and experience in using data productivity tools, such as those to automate data cleaning or data modeling.

K-means clustering: how it works

07:35
Full lecture: http://bit.ly/K-means The K-means algorithm starts by placing K points (centroids) at random locations in space. We then perform the following steps iteratively: (1) for each instance, we assign it to a cluster with the nearest centroid, and (2) we move each centroid to the mean of the instances assigned to it. The algorithm continues until no instances change cluster membership.
