Man Leaves $1,000 Tip then Asks for it Back

07:24
The staff at a Thai restaurant in Colorado were elated when they discovered that a patron had left them $1,000 in tips. Unfortunately, things turned out to be too good to be true when the guy came back the next day and confessed that he didn't mean to leave so much money--he had been too drunk to realize it the night before. And he asked for the money back. Luckily, the restaurant owners figured that the large tip might have been accidental, so they held the money and returned it to the man when he came back for it. So in a world of endless conflicts and disputes, this story resolved itself peacefully.

Strangers Leave $400 Tip And A Bigger Surprise

01:13
For months, Cayla Chandara has been a waitress at two different restaurants, pulling double shifts just to make ends meet. The 21-year-old moved to Waikiki, Hawaii, from Santa Rosa, California, for school. But with student loans and the high cost of living, Chandara didn’t want to slip into debt. Instead of continuing her education, Chandara decided to take a step back. She accepted a job at a nearby Cheesecake Factory and Noi Thai Cuisine, hoping to save up enough money so she could return to school one day. Chandara was serving two “life-long friends” and a 10-year-old girl visiting from Australia at Noi Thai Cuisine last week. They struck up a conversation, asking Chandara why she moved to Hawaii. Chandara told them about school and her dreams for the future. The waitress thought the customers were just being polite. But as she cleared their table and collected their $200 tab at the end of the night her jaw-dropped. The tip was $400 -- double their bill.Chandara recalled where the couple said they were staying, and decided she would swing by after her shift to thank them properly. “I genuinely wanted to say thank you,” Chandara said. “I sent a thank you letter saying how much it meant to me.” She left it at the hotel’s front desk and slipped out -- never expecting to see the tourists ever again. The next night, the woman and the little girl returned to the restaurant. They told Chandara they would like to give her $10,000 to pay off her student loans and to contribute to her continuing her college education. Chandara was at a loss for words. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cayla-chandara-hawaii-waitress-huge-tip/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Thailand, rainy season is a major pain.

04:13
The rainy season in Thailand varies from region to region and is largely dominated by the monsoon. Very broadly speaking, Thailand’s rainy season can be classified as May/June to October. For most of Thailand, the wettest months are usually August-October. However, the Gulf Coast of the southern peninsula (e.g. Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan) is affected by the south-west monsoon which can lead to heavy rainfall in November and the beginning of December. https://www.thaizer.com/weather/when-is-the-rainy-season-in-thailand/

Verbena Brewpub & Sky Garden Mumbai

02:01
Verbena is brewpub located at kamla Mills, Lower Parel. It's a humongous 10,000 square feet rooftop garden themed pub with inclosed and alfresco seating. It houses a in house brewery and also doubles up as a sheesha bar. Verbena's bar also serves craft cocktails, made from scratch, using natural herbs, juices and extracts. No premix or sugar is used in the making. It's food menu is a mix of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, It includes a variety of healthy eats and a bit of indian as well. Importance is given to use natural organic seasonal produce and fresh flavours. So here is what I had - SHEESHA - MEETHA PAAN - Nicotine free, E hookah with a sweet flavour of paan. Absolutely smooth, Fabulous!!!! COCKTAILS:- WOOD CHIP SMOKED HIBISCUS - Bourbon whiskey based cocktail made with hibiscus flower nectar/lime/candied ginger and orange bitters. ROOT BENEFITS - Gin based cocktail made with beetroot juice/vanilla sugar/thai lime and basil. CITRUS TAMARIND TREE - Whiskey based cocktail made with orange juice/crushed black pepper/lime/saffron/tamarind jam and fresh parsley. LONG ISLAND ICE TEA - Ice tea made with vodka infused saffron and ginger, topped with lemonade and botanical extracts. All the cocktails were amazing, weather it was the smokey hibiscus or the fresh beetroot juice infused beet benefits. Long island ice tea had a mild subtle flavour of saffron. Fresh real juices n herbs made all the difference!!! The cocktails are a must try at Verbena!!! SALADS:- LEMON CAESAR - Crisp lettuce tossed with anchovies/tortilla chips/tandoori chicken and parmesan cheese in a lemon caesar dressing. The twist done of using tortilla chips instead of croutons and using tandoori chicken worked really well ! Love the melody of flavours and crunch given by the tortilla chips. APPETIZERS:- FISH N CHIPS - Seabass fish fillets coated with beer batter, deep fried to perfection. Served with potato wedges and bbq/chive dip. Simple n elegant, Seabass was fabulous, chive dip was wonderful. CHIANG MAI PRAWNS - Batter fried prawns tossed with chervil/onions/bell peppers in a red chilli paste asian sauce. Spicy garlicky prawns, extremely delicious and comforting !! QUINOA BOWLS:- HUEVOS RANCHEROS - Quinoa served with red beans/lemon braised kale/cilantro/cheddar cheese/red onions/avocado dip/tortilla chips/chipotle aioli and poached eggs. Super healthy yet extremely delicious!! Each and every ingredients complimented each other and worked in harmony without overpowering one another. MAIN COURSE:- NASI GORENG - Indonesian fried rice topped with fried eggs/prawn crackers and chicken satay. Served with pickled cucumber and carrots. The satay had a beautiful flavour of lemon grass and peanuts. Fried rice tasted delicious with the fried eggs. DESSERTS:- GREEN TEA TIRAMISU - Classic tiramisu with a twist of green tea. Served with vanilla ice cream. The egg whisked airy mascarpone cheese in the tiramisu was infused with japanese matcha green tea, loved the unusual combination. Must try !! AZTEC CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE- Warm chocolate orange sponge cake . Served with chocolate ice cream. Sweet spicy cake with the cool ice cream was devine!!! Overall, I had a great time. Groovy music, intoxicating cocktails, delicious food and vibrant atmosphere..... It's the place to look out for @ Kamla Mills !!! Go try indulge ;)) Watch the video on my blog - anandtiwari.in

Taboo Video Magazine 1983 Season 1, Episode 2

20:36
A BRIEF HISTORY OF TABOO AND INDIANA ALTERNATIVE JOURNALISM FROM 1975-1985 Taboo Magazine was an alternative monthly magazine founded by Don Berry in 1982. Based in Indianapolis, Taboo was in stark contrast to Indiana's largely conservative local publications. In addition to critical commentary on local politics and issues of the day, Taboo published fiction, art, satire, interviews, and coverage of the entertainment scene. Taboo also produced its own "Taboo Parties" featuring local new wave, punk and rock bands at establishments like The Vogue and The Patio. With the help of staffers Tim Brickley and Dave Rheins, Taboo produced two editions of a video version of the print magazine, which was a novel and groundbreaking concept at that time. The video premiered at The Vogue nightclub. In this 2nd episode, we see the new offices for Taboo under construction in a former Catholic girls school at 429 1/2 E. Vermont Street in downtown Indianapolis. The building had been purchased by a dentist and reimagined as "The Indianapolis Academy of the Arts." It was home to The Indianapolis Ballet Theatre and many artists who used the former classrooms as studios. When the Baltimore Colts moved to Indianapolis, the football team's cheerleading squad rented the building's gymnasium for its cheerleading practices. On the squad's practice days, the Taboo staff often worked late. Taboo later changed its name to "The Meridian" and Berry went on to found The Broad Ripple Music Festival. He also wrote and published two editions of Indianapolis Nightlife, a guide book to more than 1,000 restaurants, bars, taverns, nightclubs, theaters, and entertainment venues in the Circle City. The publication was financed by display advertising which, by now, the 31-year-old Berry had become quite adept at selling. A natural promoter and entrepreneur, Berry went to Austin, Texas in 1985 and convinced local nightclub owners to let him produce The Sixth Street Music Festival, a 2-day event featuring 25 bands and 19 bars sponsored by the Austin Chronicle and a local radio station. To this date, many in the live entertainment industry credit Berry with providing the inspirational spark for the beginnings of SXSW. PRIOR TO TABOO: THE GENESIS OF JACK MERDE Prior to founding Taboo, Berry attended Indiana University's School of Journalism in 1974-76 and wrote for the Indiana Daily Student. In 1975, Berry began writing under the pen name of Jack Merde for Fun City!, published by the legendary Leon Varjian. Following in the HST tradition of 1st person gonzo journalism, Jack Merde quickly gained notoriety as "the Hunter Thompson of the Midwest." In 1976, Varjian left Bloomington, giving Fun City! to Berry who knew virtually nothing about the other aspects of publishing like layout, production, printing, ad sales, distribution and administration. Berry merged with another counterculture "street rag" called Primo Times. The new company launched a weekly, The Bloomington Examiner, in 1977. POST-TABOO: WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Berry moved to New Jersey in 1985 where he still resides today. After a successful career in advertising sales at The McGraw-Hill Companies, he founded MagazineXperts in 2001 to provide consulting services and advertising sales representation to publishers. The company is headquartered in Newton, NJ. Many of the other writers, artists and musicians involved in the "Taboo Scene" in the early 1980s went on to successful careers. Emmy-award winning Director and Producer Tim Brickley is an Indianapolis based musician, songwriter, playwright, and videographer. Tim's recording studio, Hit City! is still cranking out the hits. After a stint in the U.S. Peace Corps, Dave Rheins went on to work for Rolling Stone, SPIN, Cosmopolitan, Corbis, and AOL Time Warner. He is currently the Executive Director and co-founder of The Marijuana Business Association. As of 2017, Indianapolis is the third most populous city in the American Midwest and 16th most populous in the U.S., with an estimated population of 863,002. The Indianapolis metropolitan area is the 34th most populous metropolitan statistical area in the U.S., with 2,028,614 residents. Its combined statistical area ranks 27th, with a population of 2,411,086. Indianapolis covers 368 square miles (950 km2), making it the 16th largest city by land area in the U.S. Indigenous peoples inhabited the area dating to approximately 2000 BC. In 1818, the Delaware relinquished title to their tribal lands in the Treaty of St. Mary's. In 1821, Indianapolis was founded as a planned city for the new seat of Indiana's state government. The city was platted by Alexander Ralston and Elias Pym Fordham on a 1 square mile (2.6 km2) grid adjacent to the White River. Completion of the National and Michigan roads and arrival of rail (1847) later solidified the city's position as a manufacturing and transportation hub. Two of the city's nicknames originate from its historical ties to transportation—the "Crossroads of America" and "Railroad City".Indianapolis anchors the 27th largest economic region in the U.S., based primarily on the sectors of finance and insurance, manufacturing, professional and business services, education and health care, government, and wholesale trade. Indianapolis has developed niche markets in amateur sports and auto racing. The city is perhaps best known for annually hosting the world's largest single-day sporting event, the Indianapolis 500. Indianapolis has hosted international multi-sport events such as the 1987 Pan American Games and 2001 World Police and Fire Games. Indianapolis is home to two major sports clubs, the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association and the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. The city's philanthropic community has helped develop its cultural institutions and collections, including the world's largest children's museum, one of the nation's largest privately funded zoos, historic buildings and sites, and public art. Indianapolis is home to a significant collection of monuments dedicated to veterans and war casualties, the most in the U.S. outside of Washington, D.C. Since the 1970 city-county consolidation, known as Unigov, local government administration operates under the direction of an elected 25-member city-county council headed by the mayor. Indianapolis is considered a "high sufficiency" world city.
