How Jumper Settings on a IDE Hard Drive Work (SETUP PROCESS INCLUDED)

86 ratings | 14257 views
Today we are using SATA hard drives in our computers whether it is a desktop or a laptop. However, back in the day we used what was known as a IDE hard drive. IDE hard drives used bigger connections for data transfer and power while SATA uses smaller connections. Normally, PC's came with one hard drive and if you were to install another IDE hard drive, there was a step that must be done before the hard drive can be recognized as a secondary drive. How does that work? In this video, I discuss how an IDE hard drive works and how to set it as a secondary hard drive before installing it into your computer.
