Installing Axle3D Nvidia Geforce 6200 512MB Video Card

71 ratings | 15189 views
Recently, I unboxed the Axle 3D Nvidia Geforce 6200 Video Card and today I will show you how to install it onto your computer. Please note this process will be the same for any type of video card out there. The only difference would be the specs, the size, and the type of connection that is used for the card to function. Also, I showed how to install the driver by using the installation disc it came with, but it is best to get the latest drivers by going to the manufacturer's website and download them. I used the disc because I was not planning to keep Windows XP on this PC any longer so for now I just used the disc. If you are unsure how to install your video card, stick around to see how this is done. Follow me on twitter: https://twitter.com/benicellguy Follow me on instagram: http://instagram.com/benicellguy#

Can you still use window media player or any media player software? I don't know why, but now all of my media player software can't load graphic anymore ( i still can hear the voice in clip. More strange: I still can see the clip on youtube.). I used the last driver for Gefore 6200 ( 309.08. Release Date: Tue Feb 24, 2015). Everything still work if I replace Geforce 6200 with GT420. So I think have something wrong with this vga.

the video memory on the video card does not have anything to do with system memory (RAM) the 512MB on the video card is the amount that the card itself has to render images.

I bought close to the same setup at a garage sale for $20 - actually went to buy the 20" flat panel monitor and he threw in the comp for free :). It had XP on it and was horrible trying to watch youtube videos (P4 3.4G). I installed Slackware 14.1 with Nvidia drivers and that put new life into that old zombie.

Is this card sufficient to run Adobe Photoshop 6?

More More... I installed Microsoft 8.1 and all worked very smooth. No problems. That was the free upgrade from Win 8.0 from the Microsoft site. It was about a 6GB download and lasted about 6 hours downloading and installing itself.

More More... Except my system is Asus with 64X2 2.6GHz processor. I am now investigating over clocking it.

I could also just touch the back of my case, right? I did that when the camera wasn't recording a few times.
